• 6 pieces of chopped bacon
  • 1 diced large onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 sliced large head of cabbage, core removed
  • 1 tablespoon of salt, adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • A pinch of paprika

  1. In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium-high heat until it turns crispy, which should take around 10 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté them until the onion becomes caramelized, about another 10 minutes.
  3. Immediately add the sliced cabbage to the pot, stirring and cooking for an additional 10 minutes.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of paprika.
  5. Turn the heat down to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer. Stir occasionally and let it cook for approximately 30 more minutes.
