- 6 pieces of chopped bacon
- 1 diced large onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves

- 1 tablespoon of salt, adjust to taste
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- A pinch of paprika
- In a large pot, cook the chopped bacon over medium-high heat until it turns crispy, which should take around 10 minutes.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté them until the onion becomes caramelized, about another 10 minutes.
- Immediately add the sliced cabbage to the pot, stirring and cooking for an additional 10 minutes.
- Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of paprika.
- Turn the heat down to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer. Stir occasionally and let it cook for approximately 30 more minutes.
